Welcome to the web site of Ian Ballantine, multi-instrumentalist, band leader, composer, recording artist, agent and teacher.

An outstanding jazz musician, Ian has performed with his own band at Ronnie Scott’s and played with other world class artists both in the UK and internationally. In his role as band leader and agent Ian can put together bands for a whole raft of different occasions.

Ian also runs Cat Records which showcases his recorded work. Check out the Cat Records pages to see a selection of CDs.

London based Ian is a qualified and experienced music teacher and offers tuition in piano, vibraphone and flute in the jazz, classical and pop genres. So if you would like to learn and be inspired by an experienced professional musician please get in touch.

Ian set up the Cat Music Workshops with support from the Arts Council lottery fund. Their aim is to educate and inspire a new generation of musicians and audiences though lectures, performances and workshops in schools, colleges and youth centres.
